A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Caucasus International University and the Holy King David Agmashenebeli Education Center of the Patriarchate of Georgia on June 17.
The memorandum was signed by Kakhaber Kordzaia, the Rector of the University and the Chairman of the Education Center, Metropolitan Ioane (Gamrekeli) Kutatel-Gaenateli. During the speech, they discussed the important points envisaged by the memorandum.
According to the document, the entrants who have graduated from the schools included in the Education Center will study at CIU with 40% internal funding during the first academic year.
It should be noted that the Patriarchate Education Center unites 45 schools throughout Georgia. It is the first precedent for such a large-scale cooperation between the university and the school sector.
The signing of the memorandum was preceded by the implementation of vocational orientation trainings and school-cognitive projects for the pupils of the mentioned schools, and a training course in school education management for school principals.
The projects implemented at the event were presented by Davit Gvetadze, Head of CIU Strategic Communications Department, Marine Ugulava, Head of the School-Education Projects Section of CIU Public Relations Department, Natalia Kopaleishvili, Deputy Head of the Education Center, and George Khatidze, Dean of the Faculty of Law.
The event was moderated by Giorgi Pareshishvili, Advisor to CIU Rector, and at the end, the principals and teachers participating in the training course were awarded with relevant certificates.
