On October 9, the Faculty of Viticulture and Winemaking at Caucasus International University was visited by prominent scientists in the field of viticulture and oenology: Daniela Fracassetti and Ileana Vigentini - Professors at the University of Milan (Italy); Jesus Maria Cantoral - Professor at the University of Cadiz (Spain).
It should be noted that joint research work is being implemented in cooperation with the University of Milan for the second year, within the framework of the Postgraduate Program in Viticulture and Winemaking in order to identify the oenological potential of Georgian endemic yeasts.
A working meeting was held, in which Olani Gotsiridze, the Dean of the Faculty of Viticulture and Winemaking, and Davit Maghradze, the Head of the Scientific Department, took part together with the guests. The intermediate results of the current research and future plans were discussed at the meeting, and the experimental samples of wines made within the framework of the research were tasted.
The guests visited the infrastructure of the Faculty of Viticulture and Winemaking, the collection plot of land, the wine cellar “Kolkhi” and tasted the wines of “Ethno Okami”. Furthermore, willingness to continue and deepen future collaboration was expressed.
