On October 5, within the framework of the event dedicated to the International Day of Tourism, Caucasus International University awarded the certificates of appreciation to the representatives of the branch industry for the development of the Undergraduate Program in Tourism.
The event was opened by Mr. Kakhaber Kordzaia, Caucasus International University Rector and the guests were also addressed by Ms. Marika Kldiashvili, the Dean of the Faculty of Business and Technology and Ms. Lali Mikeladze, the Supervisor of the undergraduate Program in Tourism.
The heads of successful organizations of the tourism and hospitality industry were awarded at the meeting: hotelier - Shalva Alaverdashvili; Discover Georgia / Discover Georgia founder, director - Nino Kekelidze; Biltmore Hotel | The Biltmore Hotel Tbilisi, HR - Natia Meladze; Head of Georgian Tourism Association - Nata Kvachantiradze; Horeca Hotel Star Georgia, founder and head - Keti Meladze; Accor Academy Europe North Africa Head of Regional Training and Development - Nino Burjaliani; founder and head of non-governmental organization “Tourism & Reality”, professor of International Black Sea University - Eka Devidze.
The above mentioned companies actively collaborate and make a great contribution to the development of the undergraduate program in tourism and students’ practical competencies and their employment. In addition, dozens of students are offered internships in the same companies every year.
Within the framework of the day, a memorandum of understanding was signed with two companies: Horeca Hotel Star Georgia and the sectoral non-governmental organization Tourism & Reality.
It is worth mentioning that the partners emphasized the strengthening of prospects for the development of cooperation between the business sector of tourism and higher education, which creates new opportunities for CIU Undergraduate Program in Tourism and the career development of each student.
