The presentation of the third anniversary volume of the large-scale project “Constitutional Trilogy” “100 Years of the First Georgian Constitution” was held at the Presidential Palace of Georgia on the day of the adoption of the first Constitution of Georgia, February 21. The jubilee collection was published with the support and participation of the President of Georgia.
The conceptual understanding of the collection, editorial and the general editing belong to Mindia Ugrekhelidze, Professor of Caucasus International University and the author and publishing manager of the project is Associate Professor Beka Kantaria.
The presentation was organized by the Administration of the President of Georgia. The President of Georgia Salome Zurabishvili addressed the public with a welcoming speech. Merab Turava, the Chairman of the Constitutional Court of Georgia, Malkhaz Matsaberidze, Professor of Tbilisi State University, Joni Khetsuriani, Academician of the Georgian National Academy of Sciences, Mindia Ugrekhelidze, Professor of Caucasus International University and Beka Kantaria, Associate Professor of the same University spoke about the importance of the Constitution and the anniversary collection.
It was mentioned at the meeting that the book is a visible example of multifaceted, important research and useful publication, which is quite unique in Georgian law science and academic practice. 12 most advanced democracies in the world, which are considered to be a model of developed constitutionalism, are involved and participate in the project. The book develops new scientific ideas and uses innovative research methods that enrich past experiences and serve as a role model for new democracies.
The President of Georgia awarded commemorative medals dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution to the authors of the book, as well as to the current and former chairmen of the Constitutional Court at the Orbeliani Palace.
