Social Project to Fund Postgraduate Program Students

We are pleased to announce call for grants to fund postgraduate students within the framework of the joint project by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Georgia and Caucasus International University.

The university provides financial support for the tuition fees, within the framework of the project, for Georgian citizens, individuals with neutral ID or neutral travel document from various social groups as well as compatriots living abroad with foreign country citizenship, who have been enrolled at postgraduate accredited educational program as the result of Unified Postgraduate National Admission Exams.

Within the frame of the project the funding will be implemented in academic years 2018-2019 and 2019-2020. In total seven students will be granted scholarship. Taking into consideration the tuition fees paid by the student, it is possible more than seven students to receive funding within the project budget.

At least 2250 GEL will be issued to fund a student during one academic year (except when the student has already paid tuition fees or has less than 2 semesters left).

Within the frame of the project, the following categories of the students will be funded:

1. Vulnerable social groups;
2. People with disabilities;
3. Orphan;
4. Refugees;
5. Individuals living on border lines of occupied territories;
6. War veterans.

Procedure for Funding

Within the framework of the project financing is carried out by the assessment and conclusion of the special commission. The Commission decides on the criteria for granting scholarship:

• The amount of GPA on undergraduate level – 1-4 points;
• Participation in the conference or/and scientific activities – 1-2 points;

If the number of students applying for the funding will exceed seven, scholarship will be granted to students who have obtained the full grades at Unified Postgraduate National Admission Exams and have the higher scores on the examination / exams defined by the higher education institution.

Postgraduate student applying for funding within the frame of the project must submit the following documentations to Legal Affairs Service till December 26, 2018:

1. Official document verifying social status (issues no more than 20 days ago);

1. Vulnerable social groups - A certificate issued by the LEPL - Social Service Agency under the state control of the Ministry of Labor, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia;
2. People with disabilities – Medical form verifying disabilities expressed drastically/significantly/modestly (form NIV -50/4);
3. Orphans – A document verifying parents’ death;
4. Refugees – A document of a refugee – internally displaced person;
5. Individuals living on border lines of occupied territories – a document issued by local municipality which certified the registration (or residence) of an individual in the mentioned place;
6. War Veteran – A copy of the certificate issued by the LEPL - State Service of Veterans Affairs.

c. a Document verifying participation in confereces and/or scientific activities.

The Order concenring the funding postgradaute students within the frame of the Social Project will be issued no later than December 31, 2018.
