A public lecture on the topic: “Ukraine Crisis and Global Security” was held for the students interested in international politics and diplomacy on 18 February. It was delivered by Giorgi Antadze, Acting Director of the Research Center of the Parliament of Georgia, Director of Defense and Security Unit of the analytical organization “GeoCase”.
Within the framework of the lecture, the speaker reviewed the historical peripeteia of Ukraine’s state development, its role and function in the region, relations with neighboring countries, prospects for NATO and EU membership, recent developments around Ukraine, peace negotiation processes and possible escalation of the conflict.
The lecture was interactive and students were given opportunity to ask the speaker questions on the issues that interested them.
The public lecture was moderated by Alika Guchua, Supervisor of CIU Undergraduate Program in International Relations, Associate Professor.
