Caucasus International University has been involved in the project of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) – “Qualification requirements of university graduates in health tourism” since the current academic year.
The leading educational institution of the project is Deggendorf Institute of Technology (THD, Germany). Together with them, the project participants are: ESPA - European Spa Association; VSE - Prague University of Economics and Business; BMU - Budapest Metropolitan University; FTHM - University of Rijeka, Croatia; CIU - Caucasus International University; KSU - Kherson State University.
From August 31 to September 3, Prof. Dr. Georg Christian Steckenbauer, Prof. Dr. Marcus Herntrei,Dr. Viachaslau Nikitsin of the Deggendorf Institute of Technology visited Caucasus International University on a working visit.
The purpose of the visit was to get to know the university and to determine directions of future mutual cooperation. Trainings were also held on the following topics: “The state of health tourism development in Germany (on the example of Bavaria)” - Prof. Dr. Georg Christian Steckenbauer,; Health tourism education in Germany (on the example of Deggendorf Institute of Technology) - Prof. Dr. Marcus Herntrei.
It should be noted that within the framework of the project, it is planned to study the requirements of the tourism business sector regarding the qualification characteristics of university graduates in health tourism, as well as the summer school of health tourism, which will be held in Germany on October 9-15. Within the frame of the project, the professors of Caucasus International University - Marina Gedevanishvili and Maya Ukleba will go to Germany. Five students of CIU Faculties of Business and Medicine will participate in the summer school.
