On April 19, a training was held for academic personnel and students of doctoral programs on the topic – “The Changing Environment of the Ecosystem of Open Science and Research” at Caucasus International University.
The training was led by Oleksandr Berezko, Associate Professor of Lviv Polytechnic National University, President of the Institute for Open Science and Innovation, Chairman of the National Office of the Coalition for Advancing Research Assessment (CoARA).
Before the start of the training, the guest and the audience were welcomed by the Rector of Caucasus International University, Kakhaber Kordzaia, and the Head of the Scientific Research Department, Sesili Gogiberidze.
The invited guest discussed the importance of reproducibility in research, the advantages of open science and the role of young scientists in introducing innovations. He spoke about the relevance of the mentioned topic in Europe and outlined the directions in which Eastern Europe needs more proactivity. The researcher also discussed the barriers that prevent the introduction of open science.
The training was conducted in interactive mode. The participants discussed with the guest the experience of Georgia in the field of scientific research and received comprehensive answers to the questions.
