On October 16, Viktor Mozgin, Deputy Head of the National Security Department of the Jozef Goluchowski University of Applied Sciences (Poland), Professor in the direction of international relations, visited Caucasus International University within the framework of the Erasmus+ program.
The guest met Mr. Kakhaber Kordzaia, Caucasus International University Rector where the parties discussed the prospects of current and future mutual collaboration.
Viktor Mozgin also held a meeting with the administration of the Faculty of Social Sciences of Caucasus International University, which was attended by Ms. Nana Amiranashvili, Dean, Ms. Ekaterine Chalaganidze, Deputy Dean, Mr. Alika Guchua, Head of the Undergraduate Program in International Relations and Head of Postgraduate Program in International Relations and Mr. Vakhtang Maisaya, Head of Postgraduate Program in International Security / Global Politics and Security Studies offered in English.
Later, the Polish guest moved on to a public lecture planned for students and administrative/academic staff, which was dedicated to modern teaching and research methods.
The speaker also reviewed the procedures for publishing articles in scientific journals – “Ante Portas” (Poland) and “Ukrainian Policymaker” (Ukraine).
It should be noted that in the mentioned journals, which are widely acknowledged in the international scientific community, students can publish articles from the undergraduate level, and many students of the international relations program at Caucasus International University have taken advantage of this opportunity.
In addition to the above-mentioned issues, the students were also interested in the current political issues of the region, to which they obtained appropriate answers from the speaker.
It should be noted that on October 16-17, Victor Mozgin held three additional lectures for undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral students of the Faculty of Social Sciences on the following topics: “Russia’s Confrontation with the West in the Context of the War in Ukraine”; “The Changing Nature of the Russian Grand Strategy in Relation to the War in Ukraine”; “The Impact of the War in Ukraine on the Situation of the Polish Army - a Perspective of Future Developments”.
