Ley Sander, Professor of Neurology and Clinical Epilepsy, representative of the Institute of Neurology at University College London visited Caucasus International University on May 3.
The working visit was held within the framework of the winning project of the fundamental scientific grants competition of Caucasus International University – “Research on the Changes in Attitudes and Knowledge about Epilepsy in Different Groups of Society after Ten Years of Intervention Activities in Georgia”.
The British professor, who is an international expert of the project, met the head of the Scientific Research Department of Caucasus International University, SesIli Gogiberidze, and the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Magda Tortladze. The meeting was also attended by CIU International Relations Department Coordinator Svetlana Kirakosian, Faculty of Medicine Associate Professor Nino Gogatishvili (project leader), Professor Sophio Kasradze (project coordinator) and Faculty of Medicine academic process management specialist Guja Tsitlidze.
At the meeting, issues related to the project were discussed and prospects of future mutual cooperation were outlined, both in the educational and scientific directions.
Later, a public lecture on the topic “Epilepsy” was conducted by Ley Sander for the students of the Faculty of Medicine.
It should be noted that 12 students of CIU Faculty of Medicine are involved in the current scientific research.
