On May 16, Caucasus International University Laboratory of Geopolitical Modeling hosted a roundtable discussion on International Day for Peaceful Coexistence (UN Resolution 72/130) on the topic: “The Role of Metapolitics and Academic Diplomacy for Peaceful Coexistence”.
The meeting was opened by the Rector of Caucasus International University, Kakhaber Kordzaia, who spoke about the urgency of the issue and stressed the importance of the involvement of the university community.
On December 8, 2017, the UN General Assembly, in its Resolution (72/130), declared May 16 as the International Day for Peaceful Coexistence and aimed at constantly mobilizing the efforts of the international community against violence and war.
The meeting held at the University also referred to this date, the main goal of which was to use the existing scientific resources at the state and public levels, to increase the culture of cooperation and to create permanent formats of collaboration.
The main speaker of the meeting was a member of the International Organization of Political Psychology, head of CIU Laboratory of Geopolitical Modeling, co-author of the monograph “Arsenal of Metapolitics for Peace”, Professor Alexander Rusetski. The moderator was the President of the Georgian Academy of Political Sciences and Morality, Professor Vazha Shubitidze.
The roundtable focused on the discussion of issues such as: the presentation of the results of the monograph “Arsenal of Metapolitics for Peace” initiated by the Academy of Political Science and Morality and care about the political science / education strategy and action plan; Promoting the conditions for cooperation of the academic community staff – “Consortium for Peaceful Coexistence”; Strengthening the initiative to establish sectoral councils in the field of political science; Providing a new generation of scientific products of state and international policy; Developing cooperation between academia and management systems and strengthen national meta-management systems; Mechanisms and opportunities for cooperation with the UN.
The roundtable workshop was attended by representatives of public and private structures, university and academic circles.
