An open lecture was held for media students on the topic: “Ethnic Conflicts and International Norms” on September 25.
The lecture was conducted by Professor Zaza Tsotniashvili, head of Undergraduate and Postgraduate Programs of Journalism at CIU, and Ms. Nino Dalakishvili, journalist of “America’s Voice”.
Within the framework of the lecture, Professor Zaza Tsotniashvili focused on the theoretical issue and reviewed the main trends observed in the development of modern ethnic conflicts. He also highlighted the importance of the international community and international law. Simultaneously, it was noted that international law does not significantly contribute to the regulation of conflicts.
Journalist Nino Dalakishvili introduced her practical experience to the students. She placed emphasis on the coverage of conflicts, especially from the conflict zone. In addition, she introduced the personal technology of information preparation and the main issues of “America’s Voice” policy.
The meeting was interactive, where students had the opportunity to get answers to the questions they were interested in.
The public lecture was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Ms. Nana Amiranashvili and the administrative/academic staff of the Faculty.
