A special training focusing on the rules for writing Master’s thesis and developing analytical-research skills was held for CIU students of Postgraduate Program in International Relations and International Security on January 28, 2019.
Mr. Vakhtang Maisaia, Supervisor of Postgraduate Program and Mr. Alika Gechua, Assistant to Supervisor introduced the statute for writing Master’s thesis and discussed in details every component of the thesis at the training. In addition, they introduced the list of program affiliated personnel. Students can choose one of them as scientific supervisor for conducting research. Within the framework of the meeting, Mr. Alika Gechua conducted a training – Theory of International Relations and Methodological Approaches, furthermore he introduced to students his experience in relation to master’s thesis. Mr. Vakhtang Maisaia placed emphasis on analytical methods of international relations and security. They also discussed some examples referring to the use of various methods while conducting research.
At the second part of the meeting MA students were given opportunity to ask questions concerning the issues that interested them. Supervisor and assistant of postgraduate program provided detailed answers. Towards the end of the meeting, Mr. Vakhtang Maisaia, program supervisor handed students Guideline for Writing Master’s Thesis. It describes in details main components of the work.
Towards the end of the training, the decision was made to regularly organize such kind of meetings. MA students were defined a special schedule to meet with their scientific supervisors, where they will work intensively on master’s thesis.
The meeting was attended by 30 students of CIU Postgraduate Program in International Relations and Security who work on master’s theses within the frame of Six Modules.
