The University of Alcala delegation visited Caucasus International University (CIU) with the following members: Miguel Cambas, Honorary Professor of the Faculty of Economics, Business and Tourism at the University of Alcala, Honorary Professor of Caucasus International University; Blanca Garcia, Professor of Tourism and Marketing Area of the Faculty of Economics, Business and Tourism at the University of Alcala; Yolanda Garson – International Relations Service Coordinator in the direction of Erasmus+ students at the University of Alcala.
Within the framework of the visit, representatives of the University of Alcala met with CIU Rector Kakhaber Kordzaia. The meeting was also attended by Tamar Laghidze, Deputy Head of the International Relations Department and Svetlana Kirakosyan, Coordinator of the International Relations Department.
At the meeting, the parties discussed the development of cooperation within the framework of Erasmus +, the launch of cooperation in the field of research within Horizon 2020, the development of dual degree programs in business, short-term internships for medical students and joint training in wine tourism.
The guests visited CIU infrastructure and research laboratories after the meeting.
Later, a master class was held by Alcala University professors on the topic: “Wine Tourism”, where the main topics were: development of product strategies for this type of experimental tourism; Spanish models: Rioja, Ribera del Duero, Jerez, others (Speaker - Blanca Garcia); Who are the wine and gastronomic tourists? What are they looking for? Spanish, French and US models (Speaker - Miguel Cambas).
The master class was attended by CIU administration, Viticulture-Winemaking and Tourism students, graduates and entrants.
Towards the end of the meeting, each participant of the master class was awarded a certificate.
