On February 5, the winter school “On Local Self-Governance” organized by Caucasus International University was opened in the meeting hall of Tbilisi City Municipality Assembly.

In his speech, the rector highlighted the significance of the school, the relevance of the issue of the local self-governance and the special role of young people in this direction, and finally thanked Tbilisi City Municipality Assembly for supporting the project.
“It is a great honor for us to host Caucasus International University within the framework of the Winter School On Local Self-Governance. The participation of young people in the process of implementing self-governance is the most important. I am convinced that the experience of the assembly members will help the students to get more information about the activities of the local self-government. That is why the meeting is attended by people who directly participate in the process of implementing local self-governance and are decision-makers”, stated Tinatin Nibloshvili.
Within the framework of the day, Revaz Sokhadze, the chair of the Urban Planning and Civic Economy commission of the representative body of the capital, spoke about the structure and functioning of the City Assembly, and in the second part, Levan Zhorzholiani, the chairman of the Legal Issues and Human Rights Protection Commission at Tbilisi City Assembly, introduced himself to the audience.
