On September 30, the Georgian State Minister for Reconciliation and Civil Equality, Tea Akhvlediani visited Caucasus International University and spoke about the state policy of reconciliation and the occupied territories at a meeting with students.
The State Minister reviewed the main tasks of the peace policy, which includes the de-occupation of the country and the reconciliation of societies separated by the conflict. She discussed the problems of the population living near the dividing lines, residents of the occupied territory and internally displaced persons. The minister placed emphasis on the peace initiative of the Georgian government “Step towards a better future” and the opportunities and challenges in this direction. The minister also spoke about the annual award established by the Ministry’s staff, which will be given to young people for their special contribution to the peace building process.
The second part of the meeting took place in an interactive mode, where the audience had the opportunity to ask questions to the state minister.
The meeting was attended by the rector of the university, representatives of the administration and students.
