Scholarship Contest for Autumn Semester
Scholarship contest for the Autumn Semester is announced in accordance with the Regulation for Awarding Successful Students with Scholarships, Single Prizes and Other Kind of Incentive offered by Caucasus International University.
In order Scholarship Conferring Committee to make an objective and fair decision, it is necessary to provide information about academic performance preserved in the academic process as well as the following information about a student participating in the competition:
- Documents certifying a student’s participation in student, academic-scientific activities (from March 15, 2022 to present);
- Data on a student’s contribution to the development of the university and its awareness raising (from March 15, 2022 to present).
Information about academic-scientific activities and contribution in the development of the university can be submitted electronically from September 21 to September 26, 2022 at the Service of Youth Affairs, Sports and Culture to the following email: zurabi_kavtaria@ciu.edu.ge. The administration is entitled to request the submission of the original documents in case of doubting their authenticity.
Decision on awarding scholarship will be announced no later than October 1, 2022.
Scholarship will be awarded by taking into consideration the following criteria:
- Academic performance - calculated with Grade Point Average (GPA) in the registered academic courses of the previous semester (no less than 27 credits).
- Students, having semester GPA more than 3,5 are given an opportunity to gain a scholarship.
- Apart from the semester academic results, the data on students’ participation in student, academic-scientific activities, as well as the contribution to university development and raising public awareness about the university are considered.
- Academic scholarships are conferred in compliance with ranking points (maximum 410 points and minimum 350 points). The criteria are determined as follows:
- results of academic performance are determined with Grade Point Average (GPA) which is multiplied by 100 (e.g.: semester 3,70 GPA includes 370 points (maximum 400 points) while calculating);
- A student’s participation in students’ activities at university and contribution made for university development (maximum 5 points) – a scholarship seeker submits the information himself/herself describing the implemented activities. The committee members evaluate the activities in compliance with the quality of relevance and engagement separately and finally calculate an average arithmetic score;
- c) A student’s participation in academic-scientific activities (conferences, debates, exchange projects, participation in students’ academic and scientific projects, participation in moot courts, etc.) (maximum point -5) - a scholarship seeker student submits the information himself/herself about the implemented activities. The committee members evaluate the activities in compliance with the quality of relevance and engagement separately and finally calculate an average arithmetic score.
