Lali Mikeladze, Supervisor of CIU attended the Training of Trainers

Ms. Lali Mikeladze, Supervisor of Caucasus International University Undergraduate Educational Program in Tourism, Associate Professor attended the Training of Trainers (Life Beyond Tourism – Florence, Italy) by the invitation of Romualdo Del Bianco Foundation.

Ms. Lali Mikeladze, Supervisor of Caucasus International University Undergraduate Program in Tourism was awarded a status of Honorary Affiliated Member of the Foundation and a certificate after successful completion of the training for trainers. It is worth mentioning that a memorandum of mutual collaboration was signed between CIU and Romualdo Del Bianco Foundation on the basis of the supervisor’s negotiations within the framework of the visit. The document is a step forward in strengthening the internationalization process for the university students. The representatives from Italy, Ukraine, Russia, Cameroon and Poland together with Georgian participants became engaged in the event.

During the training the emphasis was placed on the significance of cultural heritage for the development of tourism. The participants discussed such topics as: positive and negative impact of tourism in cultural heritage, increasing practical components in education issues, safety of tourists and local residents participating in tourism. It is worth mentioning that Romualdo Del Bianco Foundation is a member of UNWTO and ICOMOS and it united five continents, 5212 cities, 111 countries and 500 institutions. The organization facilitates the appreciation of universal values among the countries and the introduction and establishment of harmonic collaboration.

It envisages tourism not only as having consumer significance, but views it from a new standpoint, as a strategic aspect for perceiving traditions, cultural heritage in the past, present and future. We would like to inform you that Ms. Lali Mikeladze, supervisor of postgraduate program in Tourism will meet students at room 412 on November 12, 2018 and she will discuss in details the conducted training and future collaboration plans with the foundation.
