Saba Kitiashvili, the chief winemaker of “Ethno Okami” Winery of Caucasus International University and CIU lecturer, was declared the Best Sommelier of Georgia 2024.
The competition was organized by Georgian Sommeliers Association with the supported of National Wine Agency.
A total of 13 sommeliers participated in the competition, with three advancing to the final stage. The winner was selected by the jury based on the overall evaluation of the competition tasks.
Please note that Saba Kitiashvili is a graduate of the Viticulture and Winemaking Master’s program at Caucasus International University. He is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Viticulture and Oenology at CIU. In addition, Saba is the founder of Spring Fields wine company, a member of the National Wine Agency tasting commission, and the chef sommelier at Shumi wine company.
