A foreign scientist Soheyl Noachtar paid a research visit to Caucasus International University on April 25.
Soheyl Noachtar is the head of the Epilepsy Center, Professor of Neurology at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University Hospital of Munich. His h-index according to Scopus is 43, and the total number of citations exceeds 7000.
A foreign scientist is involved in the project funded within the framework of 2022 grant competition of fundamental research of Caucasus International University: “Assessment of the Severity of the Burden of Epilepsy in Georgia Based on a Quantitative Study of Health Problems Caused by the Disease in Outpatients”.
The head of the project is Sophio Kasradze, Professor of Caucasus International University, scientific director of the Institute of Neurology and Neuropsychology, head of the Scientific-Practical Center for Epilepsy Control and Prevention.
The meeting was attended by: Professor of the Faculty of Medicine, project leader Sophio Kasradze, Deputy Rector for International Relations, Vakhtang Tsivtsivadze, Head of the Scientific Research Department, Sesili Gogiberidze, Deputy Head of the Scientific Research Department, Shorena Kurdadze, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Magda Tortladze, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Nana Janashia, and Acting Head of One Cycle and English language educational Program in Medicine, Zaza Khachiperadze.
At the meeting, they talked about the progress of the research project and the development of more intensive institutional cooperation in the future and the implementation of joint research.
In order to facilitate the promotion of science for the students of the faculty of medicine, a public lecture was held on the topic: “The Importance of EEG-Examination in Epilepsy”.
During the lecture, the professor spoke about the importance of electroencephalography in neurological practice and the importance of electroencephalography in neurology.
