Caucasus International University in partnership with Greens Movement Georgia/”Friends of the Earth Georgia” organize school educational project “Nature is Master”.
The aim of the project is to raise environment protection awareness, introduce the principles of green Economics and realize the significance of environmental recommendation envisaged by EU-Georgia Association Agreement.
The final game of Caucasus International University project “Nature is Master” was held on 20 December. The project lasted for two months among public and private schools of Tbilisi, Mtskheta, Rustavi, Gadrabani and Tetritskaro municipalities. 9 school teams (Gldani-Nadzaladevi N 112, Rustavi N 2, Old Tbilisi N 18, Sartichala N 1, Didube-Chughureti N 130, Tetritskaro N 1, Isani-Samgori N 182, Old Kanda and Vake-Saburtalo N 171) opposed each other at the final stage in an intellectual game.
The committee members of the final game were defined as follows: Marina Gedevanishvili, CIU Vice-Rector and Head of Quality Assurance Service, Eka Grigalava, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources Protection of Georgia, Nino Chkhobadze and Rusudan Sidamonidze, co-chairs of Greens Movement Georgia/Friends of the Earth Georgia and Paata Khizanishhvili, State Governor of Kvemo Kartli.
Didube-Chughureti Public School N 130 became the winner of “Nature is Master”. The finalists of the project received presents and books and the participants of the winner school were awarded tablet computers.
In addition, CIU Photo Competition was held within the framework of the project “Nature is Master”. 17 students from Tbilisi, Tetritskaro, Gardabani and Rustavi schools participated in it. The topic of the competition refers to the aims of the project “Nature is Master”: raising environment protection awareness and introducing the principles of green economics.
The author and head of the project idea is Marine Ugulava. Not only committee members discussed the contest photo materials with the authors, but CIU Professors of journalism as well (Program supervisor – Nino Chalaganidze, Associate Professor – Sulkhan Meladze, Producer of Multimedia Centre – Rusudan Kvaratskhelia).
On 20 December the results of the photo competition was announced. The first place was taken by Mariam Dzamashhvili. According to the decision of the committee besides first three places, they also named three favourite participants.
