Caucasus International University has organized a scientific conference – “Georgian Church Yesterday, Today”. The aim of the conference was to analyze scientifically the history of Georgian church and peculiarities of its architecture. The conference was opened by Prof. Kakhaber Kordzaia, CIU Rector. The moderator of the plenary session was Ketevan Shoshiashvili, Doctor of Historical Sciences. The first presenter was Metropolitan Anania Japaridze with the topic “Georgian Monophysitism”. The presenters represented different organizations and educational institutions. The conference participants placed emphasis on issues like: public life of Bishop Kirion in Sokhumi Eparchy, Issues of Cultural Heritage Protection in South Caucasus, Saint Nicolas the Wonderworker Church.
