Debates on Economics were held by the initiative of the Association of Young Economists of Georgia. Students were given a week to work on four different cases. Students were randomly selected to either support or oppose the case. They had to defend their opinion by various arguments or counter-arguments. A team made up of four students represented our university: Lela Varshanidze, Malvina Jakeli, Salome Bezhanidze and Irakli Turmanidze. CIU team occupied the leading position at the final. Caucasus International University – 438 points; Tbilisi State University – 418 points; Black Sea University – 386 points; Gori State University – 418 points; CIU (Caucasus International University) and TSU (Tbilisi State University) opposed each other at the final. Caucasus International University occupied the Second place. However, CIU student Lela Varshanidze was named as the best debater and was awarded a certificate.
