    Mobility

    Mobility is the process of transferring a student from one higher education institution to another one. This process is regulated by the Order №10/n of the Minister of Education and Science of Georgia (the rule of transfer from a higher education institution to another higher education institution).

    The student mobility process is administered by the Education Management Information System LEPL. An electronic mobility portal has been created to administer the student mobility process, where all higher education institutions display the places registered for mobility by the institutions according to the educational programs.

    By the individual administrative-legal act of the head of the management system the following has been established for the administration of the student mobility process:

    a) Deadline for electronic submission of the number of student places to be accepted by the institutions through mobility;

    b) Deadline for registration on the electronic portal for individuals interested in mobility;

    c) Deadline for electronic submission of draft legal acts of institutions on persons enrolled through mobility in the Higher Education Management Information System.

    Student mobility can be implemented twice a year, within the timeframe set by the individual administrative-legal act of the head of the management system: in the autumn and spring semesters.

    In order to implement mobility, an interested individual has to register on the mobility electronic portal of the Education Management Information System: students.emis.ge.

    Who is eligible for mobility:

     - A student who has been enrolled in an institution in accordance with the rules established by law and has studied in the relevant institution for at least 2 active semesters;

     - A student with suspended status;

     - A student with terminated status, within 12 months of status termination.

    After obtaining the right to mobility in the relevant higher education institution, the student has to submit the following documents within the timeframe set by the higher education institution:

     - A copy of ID/passport;

     - 2 photos 3X4; a printed and electronic version (on disk);

     - A copy of military recruits (for Georgian male citizens);

     - A copy of Secondary School Leaving Certificate;

     - A notarized copy of BA Diploma ad its supplement/a document certifying graduation (in case of postgraduate programs);

     - An extract of enrolment order from the previous university;

     - A document verifying a student’s status approved by official stamp;

     - Transcript of records from a previous educational institution approved by an official stamp.

    Afterwards, the University determines the compatibility of the learning outcomes achieved by the applicant, interested in mobility, within other educational program with the offered educational programs and makes a decision on the recognition of the relevant credits. This decision must be confirmed by the person interested in mobility.

    The University is entitled to determine the prerequisites for enrollment in undergraduate and postgraduate education programs, which implies the identification of the compatibility of the knowledge and skills of the mobility candidate with the education program. Lack of this compatibility can serve as a basis for refusing a person mobility.

    Mobility of students enrolled through the national exams in 2020 and later is possible in educational programs, which has the same subjects in their prerequisites, as the ones passed by a student at the national exams. If a student wants to move to a different program through mobility, h/she must pass a specific subject of the Unified National Examinations, which is a prerequisite for the program of his/her choice.
