The Residency offered by Caucasus International University (CIU) represents a postgraduate professional training program of medical education which is necessary for all graduates in accordance with Georgian legislation in order to be granted relevant medical qualification and a right to work independently.
The duration of the residency program depends on medical specialization and the alternate post-graduate education (professional preparation) of the residency is carried out by the Professional Development Council of the Ministry of Labor, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia and is approved by the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia in compliance with the residency programs approved by the Ministry of Labor, Health and Social Affairs.
The program includes mainly practical preparation but promotes the development of a resident’s scientific skills.
After completion of the residency program, a graduate will be awarded a certificate of completion of the residency, based on which a graduate entitled the right to pass the state certification examination in order to be awarded a certificate of a doctor.
