On October 9, a memorandum of understanding was signed between Caucasus International University and the Ministry of Education and Culture of Abkhazia.
The memorandum was signed by the Rector of Caucasus International University, Professor Kakhaber Kordzaia and the Minister of Education and Culture of Abkhazia, Ms. Nana Gabelia.
The aim of the memorandum is to collaborate on issues in the field of common interests of the parties, to implement joint projects, researches, educational, scientific events and initiatives.
It should be noted that within the framework of cooperation, students of CIU Undergraduate and Postgraduate programs will be able to undergo practice at the Ministry.
At the meeting for CIU students, Ms. Nana Gabelia, Deputy Minister of Education and Culture of Abkhazia, Ms. Nino Lobzhanidze and Ms. Eka Chitashvili and Ms. Sopho Demetrashvili, the advisors to the Minister discussed in detail the functions and duties of the Ministry, scholarship programs and opportunities within the scope of collaboration.
Academician Mindia Ugrekhelidze and Professor George Khatidze, the Dean of the Faculty of Law, addressed the audience with a welcome speech. The head of the scientific department of CIU – Ms. Sesili Gogiberidze made a speech at the meeting.
Within the framework of the memorandum, the university club of internally displaced students “New Generation Bridge” was established at Caucasus International University. The head of the club, Revaz Berulava, a student of the Postgraduate Program in Law, presented the club statutes to the audience and discussed future plans. As part of the club activities, such educational projects as: public lectures, international student conferences, discussion format meetings will be implemented. The purpose of the club is to take care of the socialization and integration of students displaced from the occupied territories of Georgia, strengthening and promotion of young people in the secondary schools of Abkhazia.
The meeting was attended by representatives Caucasus International University administration and students.
