On November 15, iTop (individually trained oral prophylaxis) training – “Individual Oral Hygiene” - was held at Caucasus International University with the support of Georgian Association of Periodontology and Curaden company, which was attended by students of the dentistry Program offered in English.
The training was led by Ani Tavartkiladze, the Vice-President of Georgian Association of Periodontology, the official trainer of iTop in Georgia.
iTop is implemented within the framework of the memorandum signed between the company Curaden and Caucasus International University, and its purpose is the theoretical and practical training of the students of the dentistry program. This approach will increase their knowledge and experience in the prevention of oral diseases and will allow them to use the acquired knowledge in practice for teaching oral hygiene to a patient and raising the motivation of oral care. Similar methods will help them to properly manage cavities and periodontal diseases in the future.
