On September 25-27, Akaki Tsereteli Kutaisi State University hosted the XVII International Symposium Contemporary Issues of Literary Studies, Literature of Small Countries, and Challenges of the Modern Global World. The event was organized by Shota Rustaveli Institute of Georgian Literature and brought together both Georgian and international scholars.
The symposium participants and guests were welcomed by Professor Irma Ratiani, Director of the Institute of Georgian Literature and Professor Kakhaber Kordzaia, Rector of Caucasus International University at the opening ceremony. They placed emphasis on the successful cooperation between the Institute of Georgian Literature and Caucasus International University, as evidenced by several significant joint projects.
It is worth mentioning that the documentary film “Birth of Georgian Symbolism”, produced by CIU Multimedia Center, was screened during the plenary session. The film received widespread approval and interest. Professor Irma Ratiani highlighted the contributions of CIU Chancellor Vakhtang Tsivtsivadze and Nino Chalaganidze, Head of CIU Multimedia Center, in advancing various projects.
Nino Mindiashvili, Doctor of Philology and Associate Professor, Head of the Doctoral Service at Caucasus International University, also participated in the symposium. She chaired the session on Literature of Ethnic Minorities: Local and Global Challenges and made a presentation on the topic: Literary Reflections of Georgian-Ossetian Relations.
The two-day scientific symposium was loaded with sectional sessions, round tables, and various activities.
The symposium was organized by Georgian Comparative Literature Association (GCLA), TSU Shota Rustaveli Institute of Georgian Literature, Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University and Kutaisi Akaki Tsereteli State University.
