In order to internationalize and popularize Georgian literature, Shota Rustaveli Institute of Georgian Literature, together with Caucasus International University, implemented another new project.
In the future, “Georgian Literature Worldwide” envisages the production of joint transnational projects and researches, the deepening of collaboration, and the commercialization of literature as the most important creative industry.
The project was implemented with the financial support of Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation.
The Georgian speakers were hosted by the New Sorbonne, Potsdam, Viadrina, Khazar universities, Comparative Literature Association of Azerbaijan, the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and the Institute of Literature.
The topics of the reports were selected taking into account the scholarly interests of the parties and covered important periods of the development of Georgian literature.
The evaluations of the hosts about the lectures, the work process and the emotions of the participants were combined in a video prepared by CIU Multimedia Center.
Georgian Literature Worldwide is a continuation of the “World Congress of Comparative Literature” implemented in 2022 with the financial support of Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia.
It is also noteworthy that Georgian Comparative Literature Association, Shota Rustaveli Institute of Georgian Literature and Caucasus International University offered the audience three cycles of programs in the past years – “Georgian Literature of the 20th Century and the Idea of National Identity. True History”, “Georgian Literature in 90 Minutes. Global and Local”, “Georgian Children’s Literature. “From Mother Tongue to Fife”. The listed projects were implemented with the financial support of Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia.
The chancellor of Caucasus International University addressed the audience at the presentation. Vakhtang Tsivtsivadze placed emphasis on the significance of similar projects in the promotion of national traditions and Georgian literature. The participants of the project shared their emotions and experience with the audience.
