On June 4, a masterclass was held on the topic – “Wine Storage and Serving” within the framework of the joint project of Caucasus International University and “Georgian Eno-Tourism Association (GETA)”.
The masterclass was held in partnership with “Etno Okami”, “Naberauli Wines”, winery “Georgino”, winery “Alapiani” and “Manas Wine”.
Within the framework of the masterclass, the following topics were covered: correct wine storage conditions and frequently made mistakes; wine mellowing and subsequent transformations; choosing the right glass and temperature for wine; wine and food pairing; wine service standards and etiquette, necessary equipment; serving special wines - practical exercise; bottle opening / pouring / decanting - practical exercise; relationship between price and quality of wine.
The masterclass was led by wine consultant, member of the Central Tasting Commission of the National Wine Agency, chief winemaker of “Etno Okami” LLC, founder of “Spring Fields” LLC, chef sommelier of “Shumi Wine Company” LLC, Gault & Millau Georgia - Sommelier of the Year 2023 - Saba Kitiashvili.
Each participant of the masterclass was awarded a certificate towards the end of the masterclass.
