Presentation of Second Vocational Program Was Held at Caucasus International University

On December 9, the opening ceremony of the new, second vocational program offered by the Vocational Education Center was held at the campus of the Faculty of Viticulture and Winemaking of Caucasus International University.

Vocational training program “Viticulture Specialist” was launched.

CIU Vocational Education Center, under the leadership of Director Tea Osepashvili, was established in January 2023 to promote the future development of the education system and its integration into vocational education. As a significant first step, the center was granted the right to implement three certificate programs for a period of three years. This milestone was achieved on August 8, following the decision of the Vocational Training/Vocational Training Programs Granting Council of the National Center for Education Quality Enhancement, which also envisaged awarding the right to issue state-recognized certificates.

Since November 11, the implementation of these programs has been financially supported by the Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Health, Labour and Social Affairs of Georgia, and the State Employment Support Agency.

Thirteen trainees have enrolled in the vocational training program “Viticulture Specialist”. The duration of the program is six weeks. The program will be conducted in the University campus of Viticulture-Winemaking and the Okami enterprise.

The vocational training program “Geriatric Assistant”, (duration eight weeks), will commence soon. It will be conducted in the University main academic building, on the base of the Faculty of Medicine. As part of their practical training, the participants will visit the Tbilisi nursing home “Friendly Community”, whose director, Tea Guruli is one of the implementers of the practical component offered by the program.

The opening ceremony was attended by the first cohort of vocational training program, the program implementers, representatives of the Viticulture-Winemaking Faculty and Okami enterprise, as well as the director of the Vocational Education Center. In addition, the trainees of the vocational training program “Winemaker-Technician” attended in order to share their impressions and experiences of the ongoing learning process.
