Caucasus International University launches a school-educational project – “The Art of Debating”. The aim of the project is to develop a culture of argumentative debating, critical thinking, rational use of conversation time, skills needed for searching the necessary materials or information among young people. In addition, how to use them properly, find a compromise and reconcile. 12th grade pupils of public and private schools can participate in the project.
The project, which lasts for 2 months, consists of trainings and games. Prior to the game, the registered teams will have a course of lectures.
Lecture Topics and Mentors:
Petre Mamradze – Doctor of Physics-Mathematic, CIU Associate Professor.
Topic: “The Art of Debating and Agreement”;
Giorgi Pareshishvili - Student of CIU Doctoral Program in Political Science, Advisor to the Rector.
Topic: “The Art of Debating in Diplomacy”
Irma Tcholadze - Correspondent of the Public Broadcaster News Program “Moambe”, PhD student of CIU Doctoral Program in Mass Communication, Invited Lecturer of Kutaisi Akaki Tsereteli State University.
Topic: “Debate as Constructive Journalism”;
Irina Batiashvili – CIU PhD student, Researcher at the European University, member of the Intellectual Property Law Committee of the Georgian Bar Association, member of the Union of Legal Scholars, lecturer in basic human rights and constitutional law.
Topic: “The Art of Debating in Law”;
