2nd International Scientific School-Conference Applied Biosciences and Biotechnology 2019 was opened on April 1, 2019. The event is organized by Caucasus International University and Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University with the support of Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation.
Tbilisi State University hosted the opening ceremony of the school-conference where Giorgi Sharvadze, the University Rector, Kakhaber Kordzaia, Caucasus International University Rector and other honorary guests addressed school-conference participants and guests.
The aim of the school-conference is to facilitate the development of biotechnologies and applied biosciences in Georgia, sharing the knowledge and international experience between Georgian and foreign scientists and professional development of young scientists. The theme of school-conference is diverse and it covers food, healthcare, agriculture and environment protection.
The partner organizations of the school-conference are: Laboratory of the Ministry of Agriculture of Georgia; National center for Disease Control and Public Health; Georgian Association of Biotechnologies.
Georgian and foreign scientists working at leading institutes/research centers in Georgia and in the whole world participate in the event. They present current innovative research results and modern achievements in biotechnology.
Seasonal school is held on April 1-3. Georgian and international students of Tbilisi State University, Caucasus International University, Telavi State University and Tbilisi Medical Academy participate in it.
A conference is organized on April 4-5 within the framework of the event. Georgian and foreign scientists will share their experience with the audience and will highlight practical aspects and perspectives of modern biotechnology. In addition, a student session will he held within the framework of the conference. Young scientists will make stand presentations.
It is noteworthy that Caucasus International University will host the concluding day of the school-conference on April 5.
