On April 20, Caucasus International University “Academy of Diplomacy and International Relations” ended with the United Nations (UN) modeling.
Pupils from different schools in Georgia participated in the project. The participants took on the role of delegates from different countries and were assigned to two UN committees to discuss the current Russia-Ukraine conflict - Committee on Disarmament and International Security / Committee on Social, Humanitarian and Cultural Affairs.
Each committee presented a sectoral resolution prepared in the committee at the Modeling UN plenary session, and finally the resolutions were approved by the majority.
Before the start of the event, the project participants were welcomed by Davit Gvetadze, the head of the Strategic Communications Department of Caucasus International University.
The modeling project was coordinated by Alika Guchua, head of the Undergraduate Program in International Relations at Caucasus International University. Before the modeling, he conducted online trainings for the project participants, which were about conflicts and effective negotiations.
The UN Modeling Committees were led by International Relations students of Caucasus International University: Teona Lezhava, Tamar Okujava, Ani Gagnidze, Rusudan Zaridze. Beka Managadze, a student of Doctoral Program in Political Science took an active part in the project as part of the consultation.
“Academy of Diplomacy and International Relations” was organized by Caucasus International University Strategic Communications Department and the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities.
