The first-year students of the Undergraduate Program in Information Technologies of Caucasus International University - Nika Markoidze, Aleksandre Begiashvili, George Khatiashvili and Beka Vanadze - were employed at the National Assessment and Examinations Center.
They will be involved in the examination process to provide software support and will serve the largest examination center.
The students and Ketevan Nanobashvili, Dean of CIU Faculty of Business and Technology talk to us about the factors that contributed to the employment of freshmen.
“It should be noted that the rapidly developing pace of the field of information technologies is combined with the university learning environment, which is in full compliance with modern standards. The courses that we take within the framework of the program are adapted to the demands of the market, therefore, this is one of the main factors of our employment. In addition, it should be noted that the schedule is adapted to the student, which, along with studies, makes employment easier”, states Nika Markoidze.
“Every day I want to come here with joy, because this program gives me a constant opportunity for development. The relationship with highly qualified, practicing lecturers and the experience we get from them is worth mentioning,” admits Beka Vanadze.
As Ketevan Nanobashvili, Dean of the Faculty, mentions, this experience will be very important for students both in terms of professional and human relations. “There is a trend in our field to focus on skill-based programs. Our students create projects in graphic design, databases, networks, mobile applications, and finally, as a result of creating a competitive portfolio, there is a high probability of successful employment. The uniqueness of the information technology program is the teaching focused on the development of skills”.
It should be noted that, along with the Georgian-language undergraduate program in Information Technologies, an English-language program will be launched from the next academic year. Opportunities for learning focused on practical skills are constantly increasing, which is reflected in new infrastructure projects, technological innovations and growing international contacts.
