Mr. Vesselin Valkanov, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria to Georgia, visited Caucasus International University on October 30.
Within the framework of the day, the presentation of the textbook – “Convergent Journalism: Introduction” - was held in Zhiuli Shartava Hall.
The meeting was opened by the Rector of Caucasus International University, Mr. Kakhaber Kordzaia, who thanked the ambassador for his visit. In addition, he noted the productive cooperation between Georgia and Bulgaria in educational and other directions and placed emphasis on the importance of the newly published book.
In his speech, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Bulgaria mentioned the role of the Bulgarian Embassy in the direction of educational projects in Georgia and once again confirmed Bulgaria’s unwavering support for Georgia in obtaining the status of a candidate country for the European Union.
The content of the project and the book was reviewed by Ms. Inga Shamilishvili, the professor of Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University. The head of the Multimedia Center of Caucasus International University, Ms. Nino Chalaganidze, and the head of undergraduate/postgraduate programs in journalism, Mr. Zaza Tsotniashvili, also gave a speech at the meeting.
It should be noted that the book was published by Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University with the financial support of Bulgarian Development Aid.
The new textbook will be given as a gift to the leading media schools of Georgia, and one of the first in this direction was selected Caucasus International University.
“Convergent Journalism: An Introduction” is an innovative guide to practical journalism for the 21st century.
