On November 5, Caucasus International University hosted a workshop on obstetrics and gynecology, organized by the Georgian International Medical Student Society (GIMSOC).
The event was led by Mamuka Nemsadze, Associate Professor and Obstetrician-Gynecologist at Caucasus International University and Nino Gogia, Obstetrician-Gynecologist and Invited Lecturer at Caucasus International University.
The first part of the workshop covered such key topics as physiological labor, stages of labor, management strategies, complications, cesarean sections and their techniques, as well as statistical trends and current challenges associated with cesarean section. Additionally, the workshop addressed the connection between HPV infection and cervical cancer, risk factors, symptoms, disease screening, statistical data, diagnosis, treatment options, prevention strategies, and the importance of vaccination.
In the second part of the workshop, Mamuka Nemsadze introduced the students to the technique of applying various sutures, and Nino Gogia introduced the technique of Pap smear collection and insertion of an intrauterine device.
The workshop was attended by international students majoring in medicine from Caucasus International University and various universities.
