A jubilee evening marking the 95th birthday of Liana Ghogoberidze, a distinguished teacher of Georgian language and literature, Knight of the Order of Honor, and honorary citizen of Khoni, took place at the Khoni Cultural Center.
The honoured teacher was awarded a cash prize by the decision of the administrative board of Caucasus International University. Chancellor Vakhtang Tsivtsivadze extended his congratulations on her. As honorary chair of the Khoneli Society, he also awarded her the esteemed title of “Amagdari Khoneli,” by unanimous decision of the organization.
Liana Ghoghoberidze was awarded by the mayor of Khoni municipality, Lado Jurkhadze, for her special contribution and merit in the development of the school education system. The head of the Local Resource Center presented the teacher with an honorary certificate and a special award from the Ministry of Education and Science.
Colleagues, students, representatives of the local resource center and city hall, as well as family members and friends paid tribute to Ms. Ghoghoberidze at the jubilee event. During the speech, the speakers highlighted her remarkable pedagogical achievements and personal qualities.
The anniversary evening was led by Jemal Gorduladze, an honorary citizen of Khoni, editor-in-chief of Khoneli newspaper. In Ms. Ghoghoberidze’s honor, students of the Khoni Cultural Center read out poems while a choir provided musical accompaniment throughout the evening.
The event was organized by the Khoneli community with the support of the City Hall of Khoni Municipality.
