In connection with the International Children's Day, the students of the Dentistry Program of the Faculty of Medicine at Caucasus International University successfully implemented the project – “I brush my teeth” in Zugdidi Public School N5, which aimed to introduce the importance of personal hygiene to third and fourth graders and to form healthy habits. The project is implemented with the support of Georgian Association of Periodontology, the pharmacy chain “Aversi”, the German oral care brand “Lacalut” and organized by Caucasus International University.
A training was conducted within the framework of the project, the main goal of which was to inform children about the importance of regular and correct dental care, which ensures oral health and overall well-being. The students made presentations where they discussed in detail the importance of personal hygiene, the correct technique of brushing teeth, the tools used and their significance.
The students participated in various interactive games that helped to simplify the training process and to remember the habits. Through games, children were practically shown how to brush their teeth properly and how important regular care is.
At the end of the training, fun quizzes were held, in which the students checked and confirmed the acquired knowledge. The students practically showed the students how to use a toothbrush and toothpaste correctly. Also, emphasis was placed on the basic rules to be followed while brushing teeth.
All training participants were given children’s mouth care products.
The training was led by Associate Professor Veriko Khundzakishvili and Nino Khvedelidze, doctor therapist of the basic dental clinic of the university “Diodent”.
The project “I brush my teeth” was received with great interest and enthusiasm by both pupils and teachers. The training significantly contributed to raising children’s awareness of personal hygiene, which is important for ensuring their health and well-being.
