Within the framework of the Competitive Innovation Fund (CIF) grant competition, the project submitted with the co-participation of Caucasus International University won.
In the Competitive Innovation Fund (CIF) grant competition, which is implemented by the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth Affairs of Georgia with the support of the World Bank, in partnership with Caucasus International University and the University of Graz in Austria, the TSSU project: “Creating a Digital Database of Micromorphological Drugs and its Use in the Learning Process of Pathological Anatomy to Create a Doctoral Program Based on Innovative Modules and Artificial Intelligence Components” (Head Professor - Rima Beriashvili) won.
Advisor to the Chancellor of Caucasus International University, USAID expert in artificial intelligence law and policy issues, professor - Zviad Gabisonia is involved in the project as an expert in ethical and legal issues of artificial intelligence.
The above mentioned project will be implemented within the framework of the consortium, whose members are Tbilisi State Medical University, Caucasus International University and Medical University of Graz, Austria.
The project novelty lies in the fact that, for the first time in Georgia, with the help of a digital scanner, the digitization of archival and current case preparations, the interactive transformation of digital preparations and the development of new algorithms for student evaluation and self-evaluation will be implemented for the academic process.
Within the framework of the project, a bilateral Doctoral Program in Pathology using artificial intelligence components will be developed together with the Institute of Pathology Diagnostics and Research of the Medical University of Graz.
The database, morphometry tools and information processing algorithms created as a result of the project implementation will be available for the accomplishment of research projects of many medical specialties and will be constantly enriched with not only clinical but also research data, which will make the learning process even more interesting and will promote the involvement of students in research projects.
