Format of Studying in the Spring Semester of 2020-2021 Academic Year
Taking into account the recommendations issued by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports (Minister’s Decree MES 1 21 0000159323 of February 24) and in order to protect the health of students, it was considered advisable to carry out the academic process in the spring semester of 2020-2021 academic year in semi or/and fully online format by the following regulations:
- In the spring semester of 2020-2021 academic year, the academic process will start online at all cycles in accordance with distance learning rule (except the academic courses defined in the appendix);
- Clinical, practical and laboratory courses will be implemented in class (face-to-face), taking into account strictly defined schedule and the number of students in groups, in accordance with the Annex;
- Midterm exams for all cycles will be held non-remotely;
- After midterm exams all seminars and practical classes (except lectures) will continue in class;
- In case of complication of the epidemiological situation, the validity of articles 3 and 4 shall be reviewed no later than 10 days before the beginning of the midterm examinations.
Faculty of Medicine
Educational Program in Medicine
- Practical lessons for 2nd-4th semester students of the medicine program should be conducted in an online format for the first 3 weeks after the commencement of studies. The practical and laboratory components provided by the syllabus should be conducted in class (face-to-face) from the 4th week.
- The 6th semester students of the medicine program will be offered practical classes with the following principle:
- Academic course “General Surgery” will be held in the clinic;
- Academic course “Propaedeutics of Internal Diseases – Organ Systems” will be conducted at the university;
- Academic course “Clinical Skills” will be conducted at the University Clinical Skills Center;
- All other subjects will be conducted online;
- 8th, 10th, 12th semester students of the medicine program will receive practical training in clinical subjects either face-to-face or in mixed format in clinics;
Educational Program in Dentistry
- The 2nd-4th semester students of the program in dentistry will have practical lessons in all subjects in online format before the midterm exams (7th week). After the midterm exams, the laboratory and practical components should be conducted in the university space;
- The 6th semester students of the dentistry program to be offered practical classes with the following principle:
- Academic course “Clinical Surgery for Dentists” should be conducted in clinics;
- Academic course “Internal Diseases” to be delivered at the university;
- Academic course “Allergy for Dentists” to be delivered in blended format;
- Practical courses in all other subjects should be conducted in online format before the midterm exams, and after the midterm exams, laboratory and practical components should be offered in the university space;
- 8th-10th semester students of the dentistry program will receive practical training in clinical subjects in blended format in clinics. All other subjects will be conducted online;
Educational Program in Pharmacy
- The 2nd, 4th, 6th, 8th semester students of the program in Pharmacy will have practical lessons in all subjects in online format before the midterm exams (7th week). After the midterm exams, the laboratory and practical components should be conducted in the university space;
Faculty of Viticulture-Winemaking
Undergraduate Educational Program in Georgian Viticulture-Winemaking
- Lectures and seminars in the 2nd semester academic courses “Vine Anatomy and Physiology”, Viticulture-1 (Ampelography) will be held online before the midterm, lectures will be held online and practical classes in the university space from week 9.
- 4th semester academic courses:
- Fundamentals of Agro-chemistry;
- Bio-chemistry of Vine and Wine (Fundamentals);
- Fundamentals of Enochemistry;
Lectures and seminars to be delivered online before the midterm and lectures and practical classes in class after week 9;
Practical course “Practice in the Production of Vine Planting Materials” - on the object of practice.
- 6th semester academic courses:
- Sparkling Wine Technology - to be held online before the midterm exam, and in the university space from the 9th week;
- Enology 2 (Qvevri Wine Technology) – online during the first 2 weeks, in the university space from the 3rd week;
- Techno-Chemical and Microbiological Control of Wine Products - to be carried out at the base “Wine Laboratory” (22 George Balanchine St., Tbilisi);
- Production Practice in Viticulture Agro-Technology - to be conducted on practice spots;
- Practice in the production of Vine Planting Materials - to be conducted on practice spots.
Postgraduate Educational Program in Georgian Viticulture-Winemaking
- 2nd semester academic courses:
- Field Practice in Viticulture - to be conducted on the object of practice from the first week;
- 4th semester academic courses:
- Wine Tasting – to be held in the university space from the first week.

Undergraduate Educational Program in International Relations
- 8th semester practical class to be implemented face-to-face in the university space from the first week:
- Automatization of Analytical Processes in International Relations (SPSS Statistics)
