On 30 November International Festival of Students’ Amateur Theatres “Mask 2015” was opened by Caucasus International University “Wine Theatre”.
Caucasus International University theatre performed a play “Nerves” staged according to Anton Chekhov’s short-story. “Wine Theatre” appeared on an international field by a new and symbolic name. The producer and the author of staging is the art director of the theatre, Ekaterine Kvirkelia.
“Mask 2015” was opened by the winner from the previous year. In addition, Mariam Jologua, Tamuna Nikoldze and Kakha Mikiashvili have been awarded by organizers for supporting the festival during four years.
The Festival “Mask” has been promoting art for four years and aims at deepening communication between students, sharing experience and establishing professional and creative relations in future.
10 nominees of the 2015 festival will be revealed by the committee made up of a producer, theatre critic and artists; in particular, Gogi Todadze, Nika Tsulukidze, Kakha Mikiashvili, Tamuna Nikoladze and Lela Meburishvili.
Swede producers will conduct master classes for the winners of “Mask 2015” in Bakuriani.
The competition will last for ten days and different local and international university theatre troupes will perform competitive plays every day.
The closing ceremony of the festival will be held on 10 December in “TBC” Gallery.
