On April 8, fourth and fifth-year students of the Dental Educational Program at the Faculty of Medicine, Caucasus International University became actively engaged in the educational project “I Brush My Teeth”, which was held at Saghrasheni Public School in Tetritskaro Municipality.
The project was organized in collaboration with the Georgian Association of Periodontology (Geoperio), Lacalut, and Aversi Pharma, aiming to emphasize the significance of personal hygiene to third and fourth graders and establish healthy habits.
CIU students conducted a training session for the schoolchildren, focusing on the importance of personal hygiene and proper oral care. Additionally, they discussed the necessity of regular tooth brushing, the correct techniques, and the use of appropriate dental tools. The presentation included a fun quiz and interactive games, which facilitated the perception and memorization of the information. The children eagerly participated in the activities and demonstrated proper tooth brushing techniques themselves.
The training was supervised by Veriko Khundzakishvili, Associate Professor at Caucasus International University and Nino Khvedelidze, a doctor-therapist from the dental clinic Diodent.
Towards the end of the event, each pupil received a set of children’s oral care products provided by the German brand Lacalut.
The project was successfully implemented with the active involvement of the school administration. The principal of Sagrasheni Public School, Nunu Gulverdashvili, paid special attention to creating an appropriate environment for the training, thus contributing to its implementation on a high level.
