The sixth international scientific conference dedicated to Political, Economic and Cultural Relations of Georgia-Iran was held by the initiative of Caucasus International University, Cultural Section of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Georgia and the Scientific-Analytical Center for Georgian and Iranian Relations on December 17, 2021.
The conference was opened by Kakhaber Kordzaia, Caucasus International University Rector and
Mehdialim Mehri, the Cultural Adviser of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Georgia.
36 papers from various universities in Georgia and Iran were presented at the conference. Besides Caucasus International University, the following Georgian universities participated in the conference: Tbilisi Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, Kutaisi Akaki Tsereteli University, Caucasus University, Ilia State University and Giorgi Tsereteli Institute of Oriental Studies, International Black Sea University, etc.
On behalf of Iranian universities, the papers were presented from the University of Tehran, Allameh Tabataba’i University, the Universities of Guilan, Mazandaran, Isfahan, Mashhad, Ferdowsi and others.
The papers covered issues of politics as well as economics, culture and history.
The conference was moderated by Maia Kapanadze, Head of the Organizing Committee, Associate Professor at CIU, and Head of the Scientific-Analytical Center for Georgian-Iranian Relations.
It is noteworthy that Caucasus Studies Institute (Iran), which recently signed a memorandum of understanding with Caucasus International University participated in the conference.
