Vinifera EuroMaster, an internationally recognized master’s program based at L’Institut Agro Montpellier in France, which is considered as one of the most prestigious and competitive programs in Europe in Viticulture and Enology, is actively developing partnership with higher educational institutions in Georgia.
The program is a course offered in English and supported by the European Union. It involves students in the field of viticulture from almost all wine-producing countries of the world. It is implemented within the framework of a consortium of 16 partner universities and organizations, where the main decision-making core is represented by 7 leading universities from European countries, including: Geisenheim University (Germany); University of Udine and University of Turin (Italy); Polytechnic University of Madrid (Spain); Institute of Agronomy of Lisbon (Portugal); L’Institut Agro Montpellier (France); School of Viticulture and Enology (Switzerland).
During the first academic year, students of the program study in Montpellier, France. In the second year, they continue their education at one of the other partner universities within the consortium, where they also conduct research for their diploma theses and complete practical internships in wineries and vineyards.
In the future, it is planned to include Caucasus International University in the program, which will further expand the opportunities for student and scientific exchange.
In April, 2025, a 12-member delegation of program representatives - professors and scientists in the field of viticulture and oenology from Montpellier, Bordeaux and Dijon, led by Patrice Lallemand, a project manager, visited Georgia.
On April 14, a meeting was held at Caucasus International University to discuss the following issues with the university administration: internship opportunities for doctoral students in viticulture and enology at leading French research institutes; exchange visits by French doctoral and master’s students to Georgia for joint research projects; and the Georgian-French University grant program, which supports internships for Georgian doctoral students in France.
The participants of the meeting expressed their readiness and willingness to achieve productive results in the field of international scientific collaboration through joint efforts.
Towards the end of the day, the guests were given a tour of the Faculty of Viticulture and Enology facilities at Caucasus International University.
