The General Assembly of the Georgian National Academy of Sciences has elected Mindia Ugrekhelidze, Professor of Caucasus International University (CIU) as a full member of the Academy – Academician in the field of law.
Professor Mindia Ugrekhelidze was nominated for the position of Academician of the Georgian National Academy of Sciences by the Academic Council of Caucasus International University.
For reference, Mindia Ugrekhelidze has published scientific papers in 10 foreign languages (English, Russian, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Greek, Polish, etc.) in the following countries: Russia, Ukraine, Germany, France, Venezuela, Poland, Canada, Switzerland, Italy, Armenia, Azerbaijan, etc. He has also lectured and presented papers at foreign universities. In addition, Mr. Ugrekhelidze was an opponent and reviewer of scientific dissertations.
Mindia Ugrekhelidze is a worthy representative and successor of the scientific traditions and heritage of the Georgian Scientific School of Criminal Law and its famous founder, member-correspondent of the Georgian Academy of Sciences, Tinatin Tsereteli.
He has been working in various fields of legal science for decades. These are: Criminal Law; International Criminal Law; Criminal Policy; Comparative Law; Criminology; International Human Rights Law; Constitutional Law; Theory and Philosophy of Law; Legal Psychology. He has started research in the field of legal terminology from the very beginning.
His works develop new scientific ideas and use innovative research methods that enrich past experiences and are a role model for new scientific research. Mindia Ugrekhelidze’s works not only reflect and express the high level of internationalization of Georgian scientific and educational life, but also set new goals for further rapid development in this direction.
