On October 31, the Faculty of Viticulture and Winemaking at Caucasus International University hosted the opening event for the vocational training program Winemaker-Technician, offered by Vocational Education Center.
CIU Vocational Education Center (Director - Tea Osepashvili) was established in January 2023 with a vision of advancing the educational system and integrating into the vocational education sector. The center has obtained approval to implement three certificate programs over a three-year period which can be considered as a step forward toward this direction. This approval was granted on August 8 by the Council for Granting the Right to Implement Vocational Training/Vocational Retraining Programs of the National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement, allowing CIU to issue state-recognized certificates for these programs.
Since October 17, the Winemaker-Technician program has been funded by the Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories of Georgia, Labor, Health, and Social Affairs of Georgia, along with the State Employment Support Agency.
Ten trainees are currently enrolled in the vocational program Winemaker-Technician. The duration of the program is 10 weeks. It will be conducted both at Tbilisi Viticulture and Winemaking Building of Caucasus International University and at Okami Enterprise in the village of Agayan, Kaspi.
