Within the framework of the memorandum of mutual cooperation, the School of Wine Tourism of Catalonia hosted the representatives of Caucasus International University.
The founders of the Georgian Enotourism Association (GETA), Vice Rector of Caucasus International University Vakhtang Tsivtsivadze and the official representative of the University in Spain Ketevan Gorgiladze, met with the director of the School of Wine Tourism of Catalonia, Ester Garcia Adrados and the representative of the school, wine tourism specialist, honorary member of the Georgian Enotourism Association Begonia Fernandez Benitez.
Please note that the School of Wine Tourism of Catalonia is the only high school in Europe that offers its students paid internships and, if they wish, employ them in their own partner companies. The director of the school showed the guests the building, the classrooms and the old relic labs (the building was founded in 1903 and was a center fighting against the grapevine disease “Filomena” that appeared at that time).
It should be noted that the School of Wine Tourism of Catalonia offers its Georgian partners a customized program and simplified ways of admission to the school. The duration of studies is two years, where the first year is devoted to theory and the second year is entirely paid practice. In the school it is possible to choose the following professions: tourist guide; event organizer; creation and management of tourism companies; Tourism communication and marketing. Studies are offered both in Spanish and English languages with a specially prepared program for students of Caucasus International University. For those who do not know the language, the study program will be three years instead of two years - the first year will be devoted only to language learning.
Instead of the entire study program, it is also possible to take advantage of the guest student status and attend selected subjects for the desired period. In addition to this training program, the School of Wine Tourism, under the leadership of Begonia Fernandez Benitez, together with the Georgian Eno-Tourism Association, actively participated in the preparation of wine tourism trainings in Georgia.
