On April 10, a professional meeting was held on the topic “Latest Trends in Wine Additives”, organized by the Faculty of Viticulture and Enology at Caucasus International University and the company “Shvidi Wine.” The event aimed to discuss materials and technologies used in winemaking process from both theoretical and practical perspectives.
Within the framework of the meeting, two main presentations were made for the participants. Mikheil Meskhi, Managing Partner of “Shvidi Wine delivered a presentation on the topic: “Classification of Wine Additives”.
The next presentation was made by Blandine Lourdelet (France), an oenologist and Export Manager at IOC. She introduced the audience to the following topics: “Modern Methods of Grape Juice Clarification and Oxidation Prevention” and “Types of Wine Aromas and Their Biological Structure.”
A significant part of the event was a practical workshop, where participants tasted wine samples and evaluated the effects of different additives.
The meeting was attended by students and faculty of the university as well as representatives from partner wineries.
It is noteworthy that the event highlighted interesting scientific-research directions that will be developed within the framework of this partnership in the future.
The event was hosted by Lasha Bodaveli, Coordinator of the Faculty of Viticulture and Enology at CIU and General Manager of the university winery “Etno Okami.”
