On March 27, CIU Vocational Education Center hosted an award ceremony at Davit Sarajishvili Auditorium of Caucasus International University, where graduates from various vocational programs were awarded state certificates.
The event was attended by representatives of state institutions, the university leadership, as well as administrative and academic staff.
The meeting was officially opened by Tea Osepashvili, Director of CIU Vocational Education Center. She made a presentation on the Centre activities.
The guests and graduates were welcomed at the event by Kakhaber Kordzaia, Rector of Caucasus International University, Olani Gotsiridze, Dean of the Faculty of Viticulture and Winemaking, Nani Dalakishvili, Head of the VET Quality Assurance Department of the National Center for Education Quality Enhancement, Tamar Kvinikadze, Head of the Vocational Education Enhancement Department of the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia, Ana Shengelia, Manager of the Adult Education Direction of the Vocational Skills Agency, and Ana Bendeliani, Head of the Employment Programs Service of the State Employment Support Agency.
The speeches were followed by an award ceremony for the graduates. Kakhaber Kordzaia, Rector of Caucasus International University awarded them with state certificates and wished them future success. Within the framework of the event, the program implementers and supporters were also awarded certificates of appreciation.
It is noteworthy that 22 students successfully completed CIU professional program: 12 graduates - viticulture specialists (level 3); 10 graduates - winemakers-technicians (level 4).
The university academic staff and specialists in the field made a great contribution to the implementation of the theoretical and practical parts of the programs, including: Olani Gotsiridze, Lasha Bodaveli, Vazha Ozashvili, Maia Mirvelashvili, Londa Mamasakhlisashvili, and Temur Kapanadze.
As part of the event, a tour of the university viticulture and winemaking campus was held for the guests. Additionally, the graduates organized a demonstration wine tasting with sommeliers.
It should be noted that the Vocational Education Center was established at Caucasus International University in 2023, upon the proposal of Rector Kakhaber Kordzaia and by order of Chancellor Vakhtang Tsivtsivadze, and Tea Osepashvili, an experienced manager and education expert, was appointed as the director of the center. It is noteworthy that during this period, three certificate, short-term professional programs were developed and implemented, which were accredited by the National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement in 2024. The programs were funded by the State Employment Support Agency in October of the same year.
Caucasus International University Vocational Education Center will continue to actively implement and develop new programs in the future, in accordance with the modern requirements of the labor market, based on both national and international experience.
